Students with disabilities often come up against a number of barriers in schools. Let’s look at some and learn ways we can help them to overcome these difficulties.

How can you help?
- Support the student using visual aids – action cards & non-verbal cues
- Encourage them to wear hearing aids etc.
- Teach and encourage social skills
- Ensure they understand instructions
- Modify curriculum where necessary
Rights of the Student
Students with disabilities have the right to attend school and the right to an opinion when adults are making decisions for them!
